Welcome to the Two Rivers Public School District Nurse’s office!
My name is Jamie Rohrer, and I am a graduate of Washington High School, here in Two Rivers. I completed my bachelor’s degree in nursing at Bellin College of Nursing in Green Bay, and have worked as the Two Rivers school nurse since 2011.
The best part of school nursing is the kids! It’s satisfying to work with students ranging from early childhood through high school, watching them grow, change, and make healthy choices. Health and wellness have a direct impact on students attendance and success. Keeping kids healthy and in the classroom is a priority!
The National Association of School Nurses defines school nursing as:
School nursing, a specialized practice of nursing, protects and promotes student health, facilitates optimal development, and advances academic success. School nurses, grounded in ethical and evidence-based practice, are the leaders who bridge health care and education, provide care coordination, advocate for quality student-centered care, and collaborate to design systems that allow individuals and communities to develop their full potential.
-Adopted by the NASN Board of Directors February 2017.
