Art Teacher - LBC Email Phone: (920) 794-1614 With art, I focus on the whole child: body, mind, and spirit, doing everything I can to help our students grow. I want our students to be excited about making art. I think our projects should be both fun and challenging. The challenge lies in using the tools and principles of art to really express and communicate ideas that are important to us. You learn something the best when you are asked to teach it. With art class, I ask my students to teach me and to teach each other as we travel through the semester. I also offer Art Club to our students who love to make art and enjoy art with others. Art Club will be offered through our after school CLC Program all of 1st semester. I am happy to be teaching here in Two Rivers School District. I am empowered to grow as a learner and teacher. Because of this, I can empower my students to learn and grow through art. I started making art and learning about it at age 4 or 5 and have been doing that ever since. I studied at Chilton High School, UW – Madison (Fine Arts Painting and Drawing), UW – Milwaukee (Visual Arts / Graphic Design B.A., 1986), UW – Milwaukee Masters Degree in Education (1989) – emphasis on Reading and Writing, and Silver Lake College - Teaching Certification, Art: Kindergarten to Age 19 and my Adaptive Education License. I also worked 15 years as a graphic designer and artist before getting my teaching certification in 2005. I have 3 grown children, 6 grandchildren and live with my husband, Tim, in Chilton.
